Lets Knit Readers

Let’s Knit is one of my favourite magazines. As a new feature for the Bulldog Krafts website I will knit up a project each month.  Photographs courtesy of John McLoughlin (www.johnmcloughlin.co.uk).

Issue 57, August 2012 - Giselle

I’ve knitted Giselle, a super summer vest. I’m hoping we will have some nice weather so I get to wear it too! I used Super 20 which matches the tension of the Debbie Bliss Eco Baby and used a classic combination of white, dusty blue and beige. If you wanted something brighter you could try white with lemon and emerald green.

Sizing

You should have enough yarn to complete sizes 82 – 102 cm bust with 1 skein of each colour. For the largest two sizes you will probably need an extra skein of your contrast colour for the picot edging. I made the second size and had enough left over to make a matching shawl! The pattern for the shawl will be available free with yarn purchases or you can buy it on ravelry.

Bulldog Krafts' Ponchos

Also featured in this month’s issue are our two ponchos (on page 84) which are knitted in Super 10. The child poncho takes 2 skeins for the small and medium sizes (ages 1-3 and 4-7 years) and 3 skeins for the large size (age 8-12 years). The adult poncho requires 4 skeins.
